Contest Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Overview

The Metroboard Video Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by The Design Rules Company, LLC, 228 Park Ave S, PMB 659899, New York, NY 10003 ("Sponsor"). The Contest rewards original posts that feature the Metroboard: videos on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and video or image posts on X. Winners are determined by verified public view counts among entries that meet these Official Rules (the "Rules"). No winner is selected by random drawing.

By entering, you agree to these Rules and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding, subject to applicable law, on all matters relating to the Contest.

‍2. Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older (or the age of majority in their state, if higher) at the time of entry. Employees, officers and contractors of Sponsor, and members of their immediate families or households, are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.

Entrants must post from a public account they personally control on at least one of the Contest platforms.

3. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Monday, October 19, 2026. Posts must be published and submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, November 15, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). Sponsor will record the publicly displayed view count of every submitted post between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Monday, November 16, 2026 (the “Capture Window”), in order of submission, retaining a timestamped screenshot of each. The count recorded for an entry during the Capture Window is its official count, and the moment it is recorded is that entry’s “Measurement Time.”

Posts must be published during the Contest Period. Views accrue from the moment of posting until the Measurement Time, so earlier posts have more time to accumulate views. Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeper.

4. Free Asset Kit

You do not need to own a Metroboard to enter. Sponsor provides a free kit of Metroboard video clips, photos and a product fact sheet at https://designrules.co/contest-kit, available to anyone with no purchase, sign-up or other condition. You may use kit footage in your post in any amount. You may also film or photograph a Metroboard you own or have access to.

5. How to Enter

  1. Make a post that meets Sections 6 and 7.
  2. Post it publicly on your own Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X account during the Contest Period.
  3. Submit the post's link through the entry form at https://www.designrules.co/win-submit before the end of the Contest Period, with your name and email, and accept these Rules.

Only posts submitted through the entry form are entered. You may enter as many posts as you like and may publish the same content on more than one platform; submit each post separately, and each post is a separate entry. Sponsor may reject repeated submissions of the same post, or substantially identical posts on the same platform; publishing the same content on different platforms is allowed. Regardless of the number of entries, only your single highest-ranked post (Section 9) is placed in the ranking, and no person may win more than one prize.

One account per person. Entries from accounts you do not personally control, or from multiple accounts controlled by the same person, will be disqualified. An entry is not confirmed until Sponsor has verified it under Section 11.

6. Content Requirements

Every entry must meet all of the following:

  1. Format. On Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, entries must be video posts; photo and carousel posts do not qualify. On X, an entry may be a video or image post; text-only posts do not qualify.
  2. Metroboard is the subject. A real, physical Metroboard, powered on, clearly visible and on screen for a meaningful portion of the post. Renders, animations and AI-generated depictions of the product do not qualify. Kit footage shows the real product and is permitted.
  3. Named and tagged. The word "Metroboard" is spoken or shown as on-screen text in the video, or in the post text of an image post; Sponsor's account on that platform (@designrulesco) is tagged in the post; and the caption includes #Metroboard.
  4. Yours and new. The post was made by you and first posted during the Contest Period on an account you control. Kit footage may be used in any amount. Do not repost another person's video or footage, or any pre-existing post of your own.
  5. Accurate. No false or misleading statements about the Metroboard, its features, price or availability. The fact sheet in the kit lists the details you can rely on.
  6. Public and intact. The post must remain public, unedited and undeleted from posting through completion of verification (Section 11).
  7. Appropriate. No content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, violent, defamatory or infringing, or that violates the platform's terms or community guidelines.

Sponsor may disqualify any entry that does not meet these requirements, in Sponsor's reasonable judgment.

7. Disclosure Requirement

Because you may win a prize, U.S. law (the FTC Endorsement Guides) requires you to tell viewers that. Each entry must disclose, in the caption or in the video itself, that you are trying to win Metroboards from Design Rules Co through this Contest. The hashtag #MetroboardContest is sufficient. Or say it in your own words, for example:

  • "if this hits 250k views I could win 10 Metroboards from @designrulesco”
  • "get this to 250k and I’m in the running for ten of these”
  • "trying to win 10 Metroboards with this one. help.”
  • "my entry for 10 free Metroboards from @designrulesco”

A hashtag without a contest disclosure, including #Metroboard, does not satisfy this requirement. Entries without the disclosure are not eligible to win.

8. View Thresholds and How Views Are Counted

An entry qualifies for a prize only if its view count at the Measurement Time meets or exceeds the threshold for the platform it is posted on:

PlatformMinimum views
Instagram250,000
TikTok400,000
YouTube Shorts500,000
YouTube Video (3 minutes minimum)150,000
X2,500,000

"Views" means the view count publicly displayed on the original post by the platform at the Measurement Time, as recorded by Sponsor and confirmed against the entrant's own analytics under Section 11. Views are counted per post, on one platform only. Only the count on the original post counts; views on separate posts by others (reposts, duets, stitches, remixes, quotes) and on the same content on other platforms are not added. The platform’s own method of counting views, including loops, autoplay and embedded plays, controls. Views do not combine across posts.

A “view” is whatever the platform counts and displays as a view for that post type. The entrant’s analytics are used to verify the authenticity of Sponsor’s recorded count and may lower it but never raise it. If Sponsor did not record a count during the Capture Window, the entry qualifies only if the entrant’s analytics reliably establish its view count as of 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on November 16, 2026; otherwise it cannot be verified and does not qualify.

Facebook is not a Contest platform. Instagram displays a combined count for Reels shared to Facebook; for such posts, only the Instagram views shown in the entrant’s Insights count. If the entrant’s Insights cannot separate Instagram views from Facebook views, the entry cannot be verified and does not qualify.

Platform view counts can change after the Measurement Time, including when a platform removes inauthentic views.

9. Qualifying Entries, Ranking, and Ties

A "Qualifying Entry" is an entry that meets Sections 2, 5, 6, 7 and 12 and meets its platform's threshold under Section 8 at the Measurement Time.

Qualifying Entries are ranked by their view count divided by their platform's threshold (the "Ranking Score"), highest first. For example, an Instagram post with 400,000 views has a Ranking Score of 1.6; an X post with 3,000,000 views has a Ranking Score of 1.2 and ranks below it. Ties are broken in favor of the entry posted earlier. If displayed counts tie because the platform rounds them, Sponsor will first compare the exact counts in each entrant’s verified analytics as of its Measurement Time; if those are unavailable, the earlier-posted entry wins.

Where one person has more than one Qualifying Entry, only their highest-ranked entry is placed in the ranking.

10. Prizes

Up to twenty (20) Metroboards are awarded in total. Each Metroboard has an approximate retail value ("ARV") of $249; the total ARV of all prizes is up to $4,980. Winners choose from Metroboard models in stock at the time of selection and may mix models. Choices must be made within fourteen (14) days of Sponsor’s request or Sponsor will choose. Sponsor’s standard product warranty applies.

Grand Prize: 10 Metroboards. The highest-ranked Qualifying Entry wins ten (10) Metroboards (ARV $2,490).

Runner-Up Pool: 10 Metroboards. Ten (10) Metroboards are divided among the next-highest-ranked Qualifying Entries, up to ten (10) runners-up, as follows:

  • Each runner-up receives an equal share of the ten boards, rounded down to a whole number: one runner-up receives 10; two receive 5 each; three receive 3 each; four receive 2 each; five receive 2 each; six through ten receive 1 each.
  • Any boards remaining after the equal division are awarded one each to the highest-ranked runners-up, in rank order.
  • If more than ten Qualifying Entries remain after the Grand Prize, only the ten highest-ranked are runners-up.

Runner-up allocations are calculated once, after every runner-up has been verified under Section 11; a runner-up who is disqualified or does not respond is replaced by the next-ranked Qualifying Entry before the calculation. Sponsor will close the runner-up group no later than December 15, 2026, and allocations are based on the runners-up verified by then. Boards declined by a winner after allocation are forfeited and are not redistributed.

If no entry qualifies. Prizes are awarded only to Qualifying Entries. If no entry meets its platform's threshold, no prize is awarded. If only one entry qualifies, only the Grand Prize is awarded.

Prizes are non-transferable. No cash or other substitution by the winner. Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable. A winner may decline all or part of a prize. Prizes ship to a U.S. address at no cost to the winner. All taxes are the winner's responsibility (Section 14). Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, award additional prizes beyond those described here; nothing in these Rules obliges it to do so.

11. Verification, Notification, and Delivery

After the Capture Window, Sponsor will review Qualifying Entries in rank order and notify potential winners by email at the address on the entry form. To claim a prize, each potential winner must, within seven (7) days of notification:

  1. Provide a screen recording (not a screenshot) of the post's analytics from within the platform's own creator tools, showing total views, traffic sources, audience location and any paid or promoted activity;
  2. For video entries, deliver the video file as posted and a second version with no third-party or platform-library music (original audio or silent), at native resolution; for image entries, deliver the original image files;
  3. Sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and, except where prohibited, a publicity release; and
  4. Provide a U.S. shipping address and, if the prize ARV is $600 or more, a completed IRS Form W-9.

Failure to respond or comply within seven days, inability to verify eligibility or view counts, or any violation of these Rules results in disqualification, and the prize passes to the next-ranked Qualifying Entry. Winners' first names, last initials and posts may be announced publicly after verification. Prizes ship within thirty (30) days after all winners are confirmed.

Sponsor ships once to the address the winner provides; a package returned as undeliverable will be reshipped once at Sponsor’s expense. Risk of loss passes on delivery to that address. Tax forms and identity documents are collected through a secure upload link, not by email.

Unboxing video. As a condition of the prize, each winner agrees to film themselves receiving and unboxing their Metroboards and, within fourteen (14) days of delivery, to (a) post it publicly on the same account as their winning entry, tagging @designrulesco, including #MetroboardContest, and stating that the boards were won in this Contest, and (b) deliver the file to Sponsor in the formats described in item 2 above. The unboxing video is licensed to Sponsor on the same terms as the winning entry (Section 13). A winner who does not do so is ineligible for future Sponsor promotions.

12. Organic Views Only; Disqualification

Only organic views count. Any of the following disqualifies an entry:

  • Paid promotion of the post in any form, including platform boost or promote tools, or ads run by anyone;
  • Purchased views, likes, comments or followers; bots or automated viewing; view-exchange or engagement pods; and giving, promising or exchanging anything of value in return for views or engagement. Ordinary unpaid requests to watch, like, comment or share — including asking viewers to help you reach a threshold — are allowed;
  • Deleting and re-uploading a post to reset metrics, then claiming the earlier post's views;
  • Multiple accounts controlled by one person, or entering from an account you do not control;
  • Any attempt to tamper with the entry form, the Contest or a platform's metrics.

Sponsor will review each potential winner's analytics and engagement patterns. Sponsor may disqualify any entry it reasonably determines to involve inauthentic, artificial or paid engagement, and that determination is final.

Before disqualifying an entry for inauthentic engagement, Sponsor will tell the entrant what it found and allow three (3) days to respond. Sponsor’s determination will be made in good faith on the evidence reasonably available (traffic sources, geographic patterns, engagement ratios, paid activity, platform enforcement) and is then final.

13. Rights, License, Publicity, and Warranties

You keep ownership of your entry. By entering, you grant Sponsor and its affiliates a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, distribute and display your entry, in whole or in part, in any media now known or later developed, including on Sponsor's own channels and website and in paid advertising, with or without attribution to you by name or handle. Where a platform's tools require your approval for Sponsor to run your post as a partnership or Spark-type ad, you agree to grant that approval on request.

Sponsor will not use an entry in paid advertising, or outside the platform’s own sharing tools (repost, duet, stitch, quote), until the winner has delivered a version cleared of third-party material and written releases from every person featured, speaking, performing or otherwise materially depicted (a parent’s or guardian’s release for anyone under 18). Sponsor may decline or stop using any entry at any time.

Except where prohibited, you consent to Sponsor's use of your name, handle, likeness, voice and statements in connection with the Contest and Sponsor's marketing, without further compensation.

You represent and warrant that: your entry is your own work, apart from kit assets and any third-party content you have the right to use; you hold written permission from every person featured, speaking, performing or otherwise materially depicted in it (incidental background individuals excepted) and will produce it on request; it does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other right; the music-free version you deliver contains no third-party music; and it complies with the platform's terms. You agree to indemnify Sponsor against claims arising from your entry or your breach of these Rules.

14. Taxes

Prizes are taxable income to the winner. Sponsor may require a completed Form W-9 before shipping a prize and will issue any tax forms required by applicable law (currently Form 1099-MISC for prizes of $600 or more). A winner may elect to accept fewer boards. All federal, state and local taxes are the winner's sole responsibility.

15. General Conditions & Release

By entering, you release and hold harmless, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Sponsor, its owners, employees, contractors and agents, and the Contest platforms, from any claim, loss or injury arising from participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize, including any claim relating to your post, its content or its performance on any platform. This release does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be released.

Sponsor may suspend, modify or cancel the Contest if fraud, technical failure, platform outage, changes to platform metrics or policies, or any cause beyond Sponsor's control impairs its integrity or operation; in that case Sponsor may award prizes based on Qualifying Entries as of the time of suspension. Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with the Contest, violates these Rules or acts in a disruptive manner. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete or misdirected entries, platform errors, or inaccuracies in platform view counts. Any change will be posted with these Rules and will not disadvantage entries already submitted, except where required by law or to prevent fraud.

These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, individually and not as part of a class action. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remain in effect. If these Rules conflict with a shortened version in advertising, these Rules control.

16. Platform Disclaimers

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok, ByteDance Ltd., YouTube, Google LLC, X Corp., or any of their affiliates. You are providing your information to Sponsor and not to any platform. Each entrant completely releases Instagram, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google and X from any responsibility relating to this Contest. Questions about the Contest go to Sponsor at helpme@designrules.co, not to any platform. Entrants must comply with each platform's terms of service and promotion guidelines.

17. Privacy

Information collected through the entry form (name, email, post links and, for winners, shipping and tax details) is used to administer the Contest, verify and contact entrants, deliver prizes and meet legal requirements, in accordance with Sponsor's Privacy Policy at https://www.designrules.co/privacy-policy. Information needed for tax reporting is retained as required by law.

18. Winners List and Contact

For a list of winners (available after all winners are confirmed, through March 31, 2027) or a copy of these Rules, email helpme@designrules.co with "Metroboard Video Contest" in the subject line, or write to Sponsor at the address in Section 1. Sponsor will also post the winners and their final verified view counts on its website and social channels.
